I’ve had a love of flowers from a very young age, I’m sure it had a lot to do with my Mother’s love of Gardening. Our home always had flowers inside and out.
I used to wear prints in the past but for some reason not so much in recent years. I had a lot of remnants from Home Decorating fabrics and I wanted to come up with new ways of using them. I was inspired by Runway Shows like Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, etc. but wanted to work in a simpler way.
My continuing love for Handstitching was how I wanted to proceed.

A favorite piece of fabric had the look and color that inspired me , so I began to cut the flowers , greenery etc.apart. I love Linen, so a rustic piece that I had wanted to use for a while was the perfect background. At this point I haven’t decided exactly what I was going to make but I knew it was going to be a Jacket.

I will play around with the fabric on a Dressform and decide on a design. You can always add more to the design as you make a Garment. I used a self draughted pattern to make the Jacket.
